Eating Out

I got to work this morning and had an interesting converstation w/my cubbie mate. We somehow got on the topic of eating out at fast food places and restaurants. I guess he went to a Play w/his 18 year old son and they wanted to do dinner before hand. Which is fine. He asked his son where they should go eat; anyplace, anyplace at all. He choose McDonalds. D’oh! I would have choose something like a famous SteakHouse!
Anyway, this family of 4 kids and mom/dad, eat out, I swear, at least Once A Day. They run out of new places to try so thats why the kid requested McD’s. Needless to say, the Dad is around 80 lbs overweight and the Mom is around 50 lbs overweight, the kids are chubby, but not too bad. Yet.
Other than the health issues, I have no clue how they afford this either! We eat our about once a week; twice a week max, and then one of those times is Subway.
Like our Fitness Lady said yesterday at our weekly meeting; it is no wonder 1/3 of the US population have some type of cancer. The kind of food we put in our boddies is just terrible ! ! All that proccessed foods w/ingredients I cannot even pronounce, should not be eaten. Yuck ! If I cannot pronounce it, I do not eat it.
Okay, thats not true . . . I have Diet Coke w/Lime one a day. whoops!

Boring Foods for me

Wow. I have been droppin’ EntreCards today and got on this trail for Menu Planners. I do plan out my weekly menu as well, but it is NO where near what some of the Moms out there are cookin’ ! They do Chicken Cordon Blue, Pasta, Lasagna, Garlic Bread, Cakes and the list for just one week goes on !
This is my weekly Menu.
Monday (yesterday) Sauted Cabbage and onions. Diet Coke
Tuesday, Salad w/Fat Free Dressing. Tomato sandwhich Milk.
Wednesday, Sauted Cabbage and onions again. Milk.
Thursday, Grilled Cheese (fat free cheese and Sara Lee Delightfull bread)
Friday, Salmon Burger, bread (same as above)
Saturday. no idea
Sunday. no idea

If you are wondering, I do cook a totally seperate meal for my son. He does not eat what I eat. He will have tonight; Lemon Herb Chicken and fresh organic New Potatoes slathered in butter, or mashed, we have not decided yet. He is boycotting Veggies these days. He does however, be in a Smoothie mood and we make very healthy smoothies w/fresh friut only and he is downing those every other day.

How DO those women that cook so much stay thin . . . . . ?

Taking it off Together Week #4

Another Tuesday rolls around. Our group is doing so good! I am very glad to be a part of it. This really makes me stay on course, and I am happy to say, I did finally, stay on course this past week! However, today is going to be a challange. They have yet another food party at work. I ate a sweet roll, however it was only a Half of one, And they did bring Grapes for me, which was nice. So I have to stay focused cuz we can do this !

I am so out of shape !

I am very lucky to work for a wonderful company that has fitness in mind for its employee’s.
This summer they are offering a program called “The Weight Managament Course”. It will run from July 9th to October 2nd. Every Wednesday at 11am we (the group) meet. Today I had my appointment with the fitness lady to get it all started. Wow. I know I am out of shape, but did not realize it was this bad.
She made me walk, at a very fast pace, on the treadmill for one mile. It took me about 17 minutes. Then I did Scrunches, 15 was all I could do. Then I did push ups, yes, the wimpy women kind, 20 was all I could do. Then I had to stretch, of course, which was bad too.
I am now sitting at my desk totally drained.

Plus, I just shoved a brownie in my mouth! This, after the Pie I ate w/my morning Coffee ! !

So.

I have got get off this sweetness kick and get in shape ! ! !

Sleep will be welcome tonight.

I must confess, the main reason I am not loosing anything is that I keep eating high calorie foods! Why just this morning for breakfast, here at work they brought in Pies. PIES ! ! ! How can I resist that ! ? So I ate a piece w/my coffee. ugh.

counting calories

Since it was my short day yesterday (at work), I got home early, so my son and I took a 3 hour walk. Even tho it was rather hot, 95 degrees, I still wanted to get outside! Beiing cooped up all day at work drives my nutso. Anyways, the point to this, is that I got at least some exercise for me. I lost about .5 of a pound, but I prob sweated in all out!
Today I am trying very hard to stay on track w/my eating. I had my daily Bagel and for the rest of the day here at work, I have: Grapes, Carrots, one Turnip, and Strawberries. I will have to drink lots of water to stay full as reading over this, that does not sound like much food :(

Tomorrow we are going downtown for the Arts Festival. We will also hit Sizzlers restaurant. I need to figure out what to eat. If anybody ever wants to know the Calories to any Restaurant, go to www.dwlz.com - its a great site for Weight Watchers and Calorie couting !

Taking it off Together Tuesday - Week #2

Wow. Tuesday already and I just bearly had time to weigh in. I was doin’ so good this past week; by Friday I had lost 4 lbs! However, we then went camping and I gained 3 of it back. Pooh. This week I hope will be better. I do good when I am at work all day, however, weekends just kill me! We are heading out to the Arts Festival this Friday, so if I can stay on track this weekend . . . well, I will try my best at least.
