Wow. So much for that weekend! Never did get to the Movies either. City of Embers was playing at a far away theater so we did not go. pooh. Ah well, we might have to wait till it hits the Dollar Theater.
I got lots accomplished tho; dug out the dead Tomatoes, Flowers, hosed down the house, we are just about ready for winter. The kiddo, on the other hand, didnt do much of anything. He found a Pokemon Chat site. eGads. You should have seen him: DS Lite in one hand trading characters, laptop on his lap w/at least 3 people up on chat, plus - he had Pokemon Ranch on the TV ! !
I remember the simple days of when he was just a baby. We’d go for long walks, me pushing the stroller. That stroller was heavy tho! These days they have much nicers strollers; three wheelers, ones made for joggers, lightweight, compact, cool colors, single, doubles, man - there are some really nice ones out there today! If I had a younger kiddo, I’d definatly get a stylin’ stroller.

O Shit

I received some disturbing news this morning. My Uncle back in Chicago has been diagnosed with Cancer of the stomach. My Grandmother died of cancer when I was like 2, my cousin just passed a couple years ago of breast cancer, my Aunt has breast cancer as well and now this. Totally freakin’ me out here. I dont want to get old!
My Uncle is like 80, My Aunt, 82 (?), so I guess I have a few years to worry about. Or Not. Ya just never know.
Anyways, this has given me tons of inspiration to loose those 10 lbs that have crept up on me this past year and half.
I have no excuse other than I eat too much. I only eat meat now like once a week but I still have gained.
I am pretty strange in my beliefs. I believe we are what we eat, that our bodies react to where were live, the air we breath, the surrondings we live in and the friends and family that we associate with.
I need to get healthier! I need to live healthier! This will start now. I refuse to get cancer, it is just not in my life plan. nope. nada. No Way.

Cookies!

Post by: Chris on October 8th, 2008 | File Under Family

cookies

My son can cook ! I mean, really he can fetchin’ cook good ! This past weekend, I had this craving for Chocolate chip cookies. However, I cannot make cookies; I can make everything else, but not cookies. I was tempted to pack all my cookie supplies in moving boxes and store them away so I would not get depressed about not being able to make cookies.
However . . . my son tells me he has a recipe memorized (from Home Ec in school) and he will make me cookies. I am like . . .yeah . . . right. So he throws it all together, all from scratch, mixes it up, and Wham ! ! THEE best cookies EVER ! Needless to say, I ate them all up in like 1 day. Oh, we did give some to my Dad (the baker) and he said they were wonderful too. We want more ! ! ! YUM

A Plug for my new Cat Blog

Post by: Chris on October 7th, 2008 | File Under Family, Pets

Well I am taking after my sister and got me another blog. This one is a Cat blog, so its pretty much only Cat (and Animal) stuff. I hope I will be able to keep them both up as time seems to be my enemy some days. Today was a good ‘time’ day as the kiddo was sick so I just blogged all day, heeheehee. But come tomorrow, back to the grind. Its just now I will have twice as much work (sorta speak!)
So, if you-all have some extra time, come visit Rosey, our cat!

Under The Weather

Post by: Chris on October 7th, 2008 | File Under Family, Health

Well the main reason I am so behind today, is that I have a sick child at home. I even had to leave work 2 hours after I got there, so that I could come back home. ugh. We are never sick, but when we do get sick, its always not a good thing. The little man is still sleeping. In his chair! His bed is elevated (like an upper bunkbed) so he cannot sleep there when he is sick cuz he needs to get up and puke rather quickly. And I am SURE you really wanted to hear that ! Here he is, just in case any one needs proof:

Stoves . . .

Post by: Chris on September 30th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things, Family

Okay. I am sitting here at work, wondering if the stove at home will work for dinner tonight. ugh. So I decided to surf around on line and check out new ones! Wow, they have some sleek new electric stoves. They have a double oven stove; its a regular size oven but it does not have the icky drawer on the bottom. There is a smaller oven under the rangetop and a bigger oven under that! It is SO cool ! I want one !

However . . . I really really really HATE the controls in the back, ya know, by the back wall. They also have whats called Slide Ins. The controls are in the front and the back is just flush with the back wall. SO cool ! I want one ! !

As you can tell, I am in the mood to buy a stove. The price for either one of the above is around $1800 smackers. ugh. No stove for me. I am going to look into kitchen sinks next. Cuz I need one of those too! I want the kind of sink that my new Granite countertops will fit over, as in the sink does not just plop in over the countertop, but the countertop is over the sinks edge.

um . . . does anyone have any extra money laying around that they dont want….?

Family

Post by: Chris on September 30th, 2008 | File Under Family

I just had the strangest converstion with my cubbie mate. One of our other team members came over and we were talking about Family, and helping each other out, doing stuff for them, ya know, regular Family stuff that Families do for each other just cuz we love them and they are Family.
Anyways . . my friend was totally shocked at our conversation. I told him I would do anything I could for my Family if the need arose, pay their car insurance, lend them my house to live in; pretty much give them all I had if they needed it more than I did. I mean its only “stuff” anyways. If I think about it, I really dont need the 75 drinking glasses I have in my kitchen - I only need 1 !
I guess my friend argues wiht his brothers about “stuff” all the time; who has more cars, bigger house, better boats, they fight about everything; travel, kids, schools, the list goes on and on and on. so sad really.
I’m like . . hm, I remember the last fight I had w/my sister, I think I was 18? 19 maybe? and it was a stupid fight about me moving back into my parents home and taking back my bedroom, heeheehee.

I am so luck to have such a great family.
XOXO

Crumbs

Post by: Chris on September 28th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things, Family

I think I broke my Stove yesterday. I was getting this big fat heavy coffee mug that I use for Tea from a shelf above my stove and it slipped out of my hands. Go figure that the mug is fine, but the stove is not. My stove is an electric one, flat, smooth, black top, rather nice. Well, it now has a big chunk missing from the back left burner. Plus, it spider-webbed and there are many lines/cracks that reach thru the back right burner and front left burner. I guess it is, or was, a type of glass, cuz when I clean over it now, I can feel the cracks all over the fetchin’ stovetop ! ! eGads I am so pissed. The oven works fine, but I am scared to use the stovetop. crap crap crap crap.
