Em & In

Post by: Chris on October 3rd, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I just really dread every year having to take the Jeepster in to get Emissions and Inspections. Not that I dont have faith in my car, its just having to deal with the Men at the shops. eGads, I hate them ! They always treat me like I am an idiot, they try to sell me stuff, try to find anything and everything wrong so that I have to spend lots of money. If I was male, I know it would be different.
So - We get up this morning like we do every morning and take the kiddo to my folks. I am driving back and the ‘check engine’ light comes on. Today is my day off and the only day I can get Em/In. Could the dang light have come on tomorrow…..? After I got the thing passed….? nooooo, the light has to come on the same day! Pretty much put me in a terrible mood, plus now I dont have time to go look for treadmills so that I can get rid of these pounds I gained from yesterdays party.
Needless to say, my Jeepster failed Emissions.

I guess the good part is that they told me what was wrong and my dads mechanic, who is now my mechanic, is totally cool. Now he is a nice guy. Very Very Very nice to work with. He will fix the prob on Monday. *sigh*

20 Years

Post by: Chris on October 2nd, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Wow. I feel like its my Birthday, but better! I started working here exactly 20 years ago tomorrow. My team members really went all out too. They are so sneaky! I never suspected at thing. They got one of the 3 foot sub sandwiches from Subway, Crackers and Cheese, Salsa, Veggie dip, fruit tray, Apples w/this home make carmel dipping sauce (it has chunks of toffee in the carmel!) and, Lays Potato chips. Well! I am eating extremely good today. I am totally off my WW diet for today, and am enjoying the celebration. I have not eaten this many chips in the past couple years! Now I remember why I cannot have Lays in my house, they are so good!
But my team is thee best. I am so lucky to work is such a great place with such great people. Life Is Good.
XO

Eyes

My eyes are so dry today. I guess it doesn’t help living in a desert and all. But I do need to make another eye appointment. Right now I wear contacts and at my check up last year, the Doc suggested I get some eyeglasses to go along with my contact. I am near sighted; I cannot see far. So, I have contacts that let me see far, but when I need to read up close, I cannot see the print cuz my contacts are for far way! My Doc said to get some #2s. Like whatever that is. So I found Zenni Optical online. I can order glasses through them. Plus, I can get a nice new, in fashion frame. I don’t have to work through my Doc, cuz he is just to dang expensive. My insurance will cover most of my contacts, but not additional glasses. So I need a good company with a good reputation that has nice frames,is nicely priced and works directly with me; no middleman.
I like the picture to the right. I think they would make great reading glasses for me here at work. That way, I can just keep them on my nose when I am reading documents, and then just look up, when I need to see the desktop screen. eGads, I hope they look hip enough to not make me look old!

Running Behind

Post by: Chris on October 2nd, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

eGads I am running behind on everthing. We have been on the go go go since Monday, and yesterday I crashed. I fell asleep on the couch for more than an hour! The kiddo was playing Brawl on the Wii (which is rather loud) and I still zonked out. I didnt even cook dinner, but splurged and had ‘5 Burger and Fries’ take out for dinner. Needless to say, I gained 2 pounds since yesterday.
I am taking tomorrow off work to play CatchUp again. However, I have a gaZillion things to do; one of them Emission and Inspection for the Jeepters, who is 10 years old this month. eGads I hope she passes okay.

Stoves . . .

Post by: Chris on September 30th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things, Family

Okay. I am sitting here at work, wondering if the stove at home will work for dinner tonight. ugh. So I decided to surf around on line and check out new ones! Wow, they have some sleek new electric stoves. They have a double oven stove; its a regular size oven but it does not have the icky drawer on the bottom. There is a smaller oven under the rangetop and a bigger oven under that! It is SO cool ! I want one !

However . . . I really really really HATE the controls in the back, ya know, by the back wall. They also have whats called Slide Ins. The controls are in the front and the back is just flush with the back wall. SO cool ! I want one ! !

As you can tell, I am in the mood to buy a stove. The price for either one of the above is around $1800 smackers. ugh. No stove for me. I am going to look into kitchen sinks next. Cuz I need one of those too! I want the kind of sink that my new Granite countertops will fit over, as in the sink does not just plop in over the countertop, but the countertop is over the sinks edge.

um . . . does anyone have any extra money laying around that they dont want….?

deductable

Post by: Chris on September 29th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Well I just got off the phone with my Home Owners Insurance, who Karen suggested I call, thank you girl! Good news is that my broken Stove IS covered under my policy, however, the bad news is that my deductable is $500 smackers! They want me to look into just replacing the glass top and not getting an entire new stove. suck. I want a new stove, heeheehee. But I will have to do some research as sitting here at work right now, I can not even remember the brand of stove I have! That tells ya just how much I cook! heeheehee.

Find Me

Post by: Chris on September 29th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I love it when I can go on line and find people. I need to do this on a daily basis for work since I do work for a credit card company, and well - ya know, the economy and all.It sure makes life easier when I have a good website! Just plug in a Name, and a State to do a People Search. Very simple, very quick, just how I like it.

Crumbs

Post by: Chris on September 28th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things, Family

I think I broke my Stove yesterday. I was getting this big fat heavy coffee mug that I use for Tea from a shelf above my stove and it slipped out of my hands. Go figure that the mug is fine, but the stove is not. My stove is an electric one, flat, smooth, black top, rather nice. Well, it now has a big chunk missing from the back left burner. Plus, it spider-webbed and there are many lines/cracks that reach thru the back right burner and front left burner. I guess it is, or was, a type of glass, cuz when I clean over it now, I can feel the cracks all over the fetchin’ stovetop ! ! eGads I am so pissed. The oven works fine, but I am scared to use the stovetop. crap crap crap crap.
