Pioneer Day

Post by: Chris on July 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Today is a big holiday here in Utah. It is the day, that some big Mormon leader whose name I cannot seem to remember, came to our lovely Valley and said “This Is The Place”; meaning this is the place that the LDS pioneers will settle and make their home. I think they came from back East somewhere. I must admit, my Mormon history sucks. I know very little about it. I do know tho, that they did not have any Rubis cutlery. We do have big parades today, lots and lots of Rodeos, Carnivals and FireWorks all over the valley tonight. It is actually a very good and fun holiday for us non-Mormons, as all the business are closed, well, unless you work for the feds, or an international company, they are open. It is always nice to have an extra holiday during the year!
The kiddo and I are thinking, just thinking mind you, to go someplace and watch the fireworks, however . . . the prob is that it is 100 degrees out there today. So we have not decided if we are going to venture out yet!

worry

Post by: Chris on July 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Well I seem to be in a rather grumpy mood today considering I took the day off work! Sometimes this happens to me; I get so worried that I will not have a job when I get back, that I stress out on my days off! Totally stupid, I know. The last few times I have taken a long weekend vacation, I have had headaches every fetchin’ day. Time are so hard in the Travel industry, that it really worries me sometimes. I cannot do a thing about it, but I still worry. Stress is my enemy. I think and think and think, and ‘what if’ way too much. I gotta just go w/the flow. I strongly believe that things happen for a reason, and more oft than not, it ends up better in the long run. I just have to hang in there.

One Of Those Days

Post by: Chris on July 22nd, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

My Gosh. Today has been just one of those days! I have been swamped at work; the boss came back from his Vegas vacation at his friends condo hotel and he really piled on the work today. Lots of odds and ends, didnt give me a chance to do much but work! I know, I know, that’s what I am supposed to do, but I still like to have a few breaks in a day.
I did not drop any ECards today either, so I am sorry for that. I still need to reply to many of you guys and see how you all are doin’ w/the Tuesday Girls, in which I am still trying to get you-all linked on my side bar, but dont seem to have time for that either these days! eGads, I am ready for bed, but I just sat down, and I still have laundry, and dish, and . . . it never ends does it !?

Relax

Post by: Chris on July 21st, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Okay. I could use this, yupe, sounds good to me: The Takemi Jade Vista 5000 Massage Bed . A LightSpeed massage bed that changes light from technologically advanced helium projector bulbs, into a special wavelength of light called Far Infrared. Sounds totally soothing to me. Plus, I can listen to my fav tones as it has a built in MP3 Player. Immediate Relief, Relaxation, Health & Vitality are the results of the Massage Bed. Many Chiropractic professionals are starting to use these beds and they are poppin’ up in every day homes as well. Wow. To have one of these in my house; Good Bye Stress!

Bills

Post by: Chris on July 21st, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things, Family

Being Monday and I, and, since I didnt do squat all weekend, I am now figuring out my bills. And, the bad news is . . . I dont seem to have enough money to cover them all. The good news is . . . I get 3 paychecks in August. However, it is not August yet. The next couple weeks are going to be tight. Sometime this being Single kinda sucks; no one to rely on but myself *sigh*

blah . . .

Post by: Chris on July 21st, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Well this past weekend was a total waste. I didnt do a fetchin’ thing! Okay, I did water the grass a little and check my plants, but thats pretty much it. Oh, and I did gain 1.5 pounds, and yupe, that is the result of doing nothing.
This morning, however, I stood on the scale and since I knew it was going to be terrible, I didnt freak out; I am starting fresh today and with a good attitude. I know I can loose the pound in a day or two and it is only Monday and I have the entire week to keep my goal of loosing 2 lbs a week. I can make it happen. I just have to do it !
We have plans already for this coming weekend, and they include lots of walking. I will not lug around any golf bags, but we might go play Minature Golf, walk to see a Movie and just plain get outside.
I have a possitive attitude today. So There !

Nothing Much

Post by: Chris on July 18th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Well the week is winding down and things are slowing up. Today I have no complaints, no gripes and nothing to be angry or grumpy about. So, in other words, not much to post about !
I do however, want to continue this mellow mood and am trying to convince the kiddo to go fishing tomorrow evening. We could use a nice jaunt to the mountains (30 minute drive), fresh air and hopefully a fish to catch and release.
Oh, and I do need to make my Rhubarb-Strawberry Cobble today when I get home; half goes to my sis tomorrow. I hope it turns out good. It’s a Weight Watchers Recipe and is only 200 calories per serving. I need to give my sister half, cuz otherwise I’d eat the entire fetchin’ thing!

Change

Post by: Chris on July 18th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

The company I work for has gone through a lot of changes in the almost 20 years I have been here. We don’t really have a choice either. Part of our team works with direct marketing mailing list and due to new legal restrictions, we really have to be alert when a customer Opts Out. The people over the wall from me deal with direct marketing and they take incoming calls, and wow, some of those calls are sure interesting. And I am sure the banks have are dealing a lot with mortgage leads as well. These days business’ sure need to keep up and adapt to the constant change in our world.

In this Video Brian Rice of Red Clay Media discusses the new Red Clay Media adapting to a changing marketplace. The fundamental strength of Red Clay’s value to customers remains in strong data analytics.
As the economy changes more companies are awakening to the need for this service to help target and focus marketing dollars to improve their return on investment.
