deductable
Monday 29th of September 2008 12:55:15 PMWell I just got off the phone with my Home Owners Insurance, who Karen suggested I call, thank you girl! Good news is that my broken Stove IS covered under my policy, however, the bad news is that my deductable is $500 smackers! They want me to look into just replacing the glass top and not getting an entire new stove. suck. I want a new stove, heeheehee. But I will have to do some research as sitting here at work right now, I can not even remember the brand of stove I have! That tells ya just how much I cook! heeheehee.

That’s awesome that it’s covered. A new stove would be more than $500.00!
My 30 year old oven broke last year and my home warranty company replaced it. I paid $55.00 service charge and they bought me a brand new $1800 range. It’s an extra small one and the only one they could find to fit into my tiny house!
So far my home warranty has been worth it. I’ve owned these houses for 2 years and they have covered having my hot water plumbing rerouted and a new stove and a cracked drain pipe. It’s worked well for me to make a monthly warranty payment since I don’t have much in savings to cover all this stuff when it breaks and I don’t want to go into debt to get a new oven that I hardly ever use!!

eGads, I had no idea that a range would cost that much! I for sure have to start looking around. I just hope the top cannot be fixed, that way I will get a new one

I would love a new stove too! I have a electric on right now. Next time I would get a gas one. One of those with 6 burners and all stainless steal. I love to cook. Hey maybe that is why I have a weight problem! I also love to eat.
