Taking It Off Together Tuesday #10
Tuesday 19th of August 2008 09:11:57 AMI have no motivation. I was down to 2 pounds away from my goal, now I am back right up where I started this 10 weeks ago. I just want to eat what I want to eat! and yeah, that is what I have been doing and it shows. But I love Ice Cream, and Chocolate and Peanut Butter and Oreo’s !
Summer is winding down; this IS the last week and school starts next Monday. I go back to my 5 AM wake up time, get back to bed early again and I should get back to eating better again. But until then, sorry to say, I am going to have more Ice Cream tonight. so there !

remember last week? i was about 2 pounds from my first ‘mini’ weight loss goal. this week i’m 3 because i gained a pound. mine is not from eating. it was from my soda obsession. i hadn’t had a craving for soda like that in awhile. to top it off, the heat has been bad…it causes me to swell on top of the caffeine swell LOL i have this feeling we’re determined enough to lose whatever we’ve gained.
arrrgh! i forgot to put my fave weight loss tips on my blog. need to backtrack now. LOL

I know what you are talking about. I had chocolate and some cookie’s this week. I just wanted them and I was sick of being good. I’m going to get back on track this week. I’m sure you will too. We all have to be bad now and then.

try limiting your junk food to one day a week.
That way you still get to eat the good stuff, just less of it.

Hi Ciara, yeah this hot weather is a factor for me too; makes me want to eat even more! I have switched to Diet Coke w/Lime and that has 0 calories. I even put a fresh Lime in my drink so it doesnt have that yucky after taste. Hang in there tho, we will eventually get to our goals!

Leigh, junk food only once a week!? no way. If I did that, I’d eat the entire box of Oreos in one setting! heeheehee.

Oh gosh I love Brownies! the homemade chewy kind ! I guess its been hard for all of us. Hang in there tho, school starts next week!

It’s a hard time of year to focus on eating healthy. It seems every weekend there are barbeques!! Keep the focus though and you will lose the weight in time!

Come on, you guys! You’re making me want to eat!
I have a suggestion that maybe you haven’t considered. When you want junk food, eat it.
OK, OK, there are a couple of caveats. Wrap individual servings - about half the size you’d normally consider a serving - and freeze them. When you really get a craving for brownie or cookie, take out ONE small piece. Then make it special. Sit someplace really comfy and relax. Try to have as few distractions as possible. NO tv, NO books, NO games. Just you and the food. Then savor each tiny bite. Remember that your stomach can’t taste it - only your mouth can. When it’s gone, get up and do something else.
I used to do this with Mrs. Fields’ cookies. I’d do the buy 3 and get 1 free. I’d take them home and cut them each into 8 pieces. That gave me 24 pieces that were about the size of a vanilla wafer - but much tastier. By having one small piece when the craving hit, I made them last a long time. AND I never built up to the kind of craving that had me eating the whole bag of Oreos.
I think I just encouraged myself, too! I think I’ll go add this to my post. Good luck with everything, Chris. We all know it’s doable, but not easy.
