Pioneer Day
Thursday 24th of July 2008 05:14:28 PMToday is a big holiday here in Utah. It is the day, that some big Mormon leader whose name I cannot seem to remember, came to our lovely Valley and said “This Is The Place”; meaning this is the place that the LDS pioneers will settle and make their home. I think they came from back East somewhere. I must admit, my Mormon history sucks. I know very little about it. I do know tho, that they did not have any Rubis cutlery. We do have big parades today, lots and lots of Rodeos, Carnivals and FireWorks all over the valley tonight. It is actually a very good and fun holiday for us non-Mormons, as all the business are closed, well, unless you work for the feds, or an international company, they are open. It is always nice to have an extra holiday during the year!
The kiddo and I are thinking, just thinking mind you, to go someplace and watch the fireworks, however . . . the prob is that it is 100 degrees out there today. So we have not decided if we are going to venture out yet!

That is miserably hot! I think they need to celebrate that holiday indoors. LOL

Come on now Chris you have got to know who said “This is the place.” Of course you know what he really said was “This is the place?”
Have you been to this blog http://thisistheirplace.calanan.com/. It is kind of fun. This guy has people talk about their favorite place in Salt Lake City.
