Coffee

Post by: Chris on July 30th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

They ran out of Decaf coffee in the cafeteria here at work, so I was stuck getting regular. Oh. My. Gosh. I forgot just how strong their coffee is! I am bouncing off the walls here at work. Of course, I dont want to work, but I have tons of energy. I have noticed too, that I have the jitters; my hands wont keep still. It is kinda scary as I know that in about an hour or so I will drop back down to normal and feel tired, lazy and grumpy; the total opposite and the fall down is always harder than getting that ‘up’ feeling. eGads, I sound like I am doing drugs. Its just that I never drink regular coffee anymore, its always decaf w/only about 1/5 of regular (I mix it together).
I think I will go walk the halls for a while . . .

Life

Post by: Chris on July 29th, 2008 | File Under Family

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding Umbilical Cord blood. However I am one of those few people that are in support of Umbilical Cord Stem Cell research and Cord Blood preservation.
If blood banking was widely available when my son was born over 13 years ago, I would have saved his Umbilical blood just in case it was needed for him in the future.
I would do and will do, anything possible to help my son if he became ill. Cryo-Cell is one of the world’s largest and most established family cord blood banks. Treating disease with Stem Cells is just one of the many new possible treatments out there and by the year 2015 there will be 10,000 Cord Blood transplants world-wide per year using publicly banked cord blood. The Value of Cord Blood is increasing every day and I truly believe that every Mom should bank their kids Cord Blood. If we can help save lives by something as simple as this, why not do it? I do understand some Moms’ opposition, but to save a life, is it not worth it? Life is so very precious; every day I am thankful for my son, my family, my health and my job. Thats all that matters anyway. Everything else is just fluff.

A Mess

Post by: Chris on July 29th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

My yard is a total mess. We had this massive wind storm last night and our giant Elm Tree decided to shed a few branches. And not just small ones either! A few really big ones fell down and squashed a few of my potted plants. I think I might have lost a couple cactus, but luckily the house is fine. I need to get outside and pick up all the sticks. They are littered everywhere and its hurts to walk on the grass w/o any shoes! However, its like 97 degrees out there right now, so I think I will blog for a while and go outside after the sun goes down :)

Life is precious

Post by: Chris on July 29th, 2008 | File Under Health

I know a few people that have had Cancer, and my cousin passed away from Cancer a few years back as well. Cancer really sucks. We need to find a cure.
At least with the internet, we can all communicate about it now and we all know that talking about it more will hopefully create a cure.
The resveratrol forum is a on line forum where everybody can participate. This forum is about the Resveratrol drug, and how a group of people are trying to help a person that has only 4 months to live. It is an informative and inspirational forum and I encourage everybody to read it and help out if possible.

Wow our group is doing so good ! For me, summer is thee hardest time of the year to loose. I want to eat all the summer BBQ foods, cakes, potato salads, burgers and yummy stuff like that. I have found out tho, that it IS helping not having a boyfriend around this summer; no temping dinner parties and booze. Being just me alone, and focusing on just me, is helping. We can do it! Pools

Post by: Chris on July 28th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I have decided I really like 4 day weekends. So much in fact, that I am taking this Thursday and Friday off work once again. No sitting on office furniture chairs this weekend! We are planning a day at the Pool w/my son and his best friend. It should be nice; I get to sit on my butt all day and lounge by the pool while the boys play. Wow, that sounds so nice ! !
We have not been to the pool all summer. I have been very self conscience about how I look in a bathing suit and have been avoiding pools. Which is really pretty sad cuz I love water and soaking up the sunshine. And I know that I should not be so worried by what everybody else thinks about how I look (like they care!) but I do, non-the-less. I dont have fun unless I feel good about myself. Totally Stupid I know! and I am workin’ on it, but it is very hard to un-do years of negative thoughts. ugh.

Visitors

Post by: Chris on July 27th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Last week we had some visitors in our house. It got kinda wild there for a while and our Cat Rosey was ready for them to leave (but I must admit she did great and was very patient). However, I love it when we have these kinds of visitors; Family is The Best! And yes, we consider these doggies Family as well.

gear

Post by: Chris on July 27th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

A few of my friends are cops and whenever I hear stuff on the news about crime happening I think of my friends. One I have not seen for a while and I wish he would resurface so we could go out to breakfast like we used to. Anyways, when he usd to get dressed for work, he used to wear a ton of police gear such as what Luminox offers. The safety our our police is very important and I have called upon them many time to help me during my divorce. They need good gear, good friends and good vibes. I will always support them.
