counting calories

Post by: Chris on June 26th, 2008 | File Under Health

Since it was my short day yesterday (at work), I got home early, so my son and I took a 3 hour walk. Even tho it was rather hot, 95 degrees, I still wanted to get outside! Beiing cooped up all day at work drives my nutso. Anyways, the point to this, is that I got at least some exercise for me. I lost about .5 of a pound, but I prob sweated in all out!
Today I am trying very hard to stay on track w/my eating. I had my daily Bagel and for the rest of the day here at work, I have: Grapes, Carrots, one Turnip, and Strawberries. I will have to drink lots of water to stay full as reading over this, that does not sound like much food :(

Tomorrow we are going downtown for the Arts Festival. We will also hit Sizzlers restaurant. I need to figure out what to eat. If anybody ever wants to know the Calories to any Restaurant, go to www.dwlz.com - its a great site for Weight Watchers and Calorie couting !

just read my blog

Post by: Chris on June 25th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I was EntreCard droppin’ a few days ago and came across a really neat post from this Guy blogger (sorry, cant remember which blog it was!). Basicly he was saying that it totally bugs him when people call him up and say “Hey, what’s up?” He, like me, wish that we could say; Read My Blog !
I have a few friends (and relatives!) that are this way as well. They love to talk and see whats going on in my life. but I mean really, if you want to know, just read my blog, its all in here. I am not much of a talker via face to face, or on the phone, but I love to email and blog. It’s not like my friends know this or anything, heeheehee.
But yes, I do understand that not all people like to read, they like to ‘talk”; its a social thing I guess. But still, it is hard repeating the same things I just wrote down on my blog :)

Teams

Post by: Chris on June 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

It is so darn cold here in the office. Yeah, it would help if I did not drink so much cold water, but still! It is over 90 outside, ya’d think they would have the heat a tad more normal. Hmmm, I wonder if we could incorporate some type of team building project regarding the heating and cooling systems here at work. Perhaps work with other teams in the building, like the Maintenance team ! Kouzes and Posner at TeamWorx.Com are great at team building programs so I am sure they could help. Our small team of 8 people is a great team, and I am very lucky to be a part of it. Just this morning, my friend from down the row (on another team) was telling me that when someone goes on vacation on their team, they don’t have a back-up person. They have tons of back log work and its no fun. eGads, I can imagine! They for sure, need a team building program! Our team is great; we all have back-up people and when we get back from vacation we are just peachy, and all our work is up to date.

full of water

Post by: Chris on June 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

My Gosh. I feel like a bloated whale today, sitting here at work. This is what I ate so far today:
Coffe, Bagel w/Cream Cheese (150 calories) one Carrot, Nectarine, Strawberries, and about 5 glasses of water. This however, is good. I feel totally full. I know its all water, but hopefully it will fool my mind into thinking I am not hungry. Oh, I forgot the donut (250 calories). whoops! The boss brought in Donuts, I really hate that when he does that !
Anyways, since today is pretty much my Monday, I am doing rather well so far. The trick is, when I cook those breaded chicken tenders for my sons’ dinner tonight, NOT to eat them ! ! ! I get salad, okay ?! ?! ?! ?! ?!

new people

Post by: Chris on June 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

This weekend whilst camping, I meet a bunch of new people. It was Family Camp with our Scout groups; Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. The parents that went, have a lot in common with other parents that went too. We all love kids, camping, hiking, fishing, just basic outdoors stuff. I often wonder how couples meet other couples with similar interests if they are not part of a group, like I am. Of course there is always the online couples search, where if you don’t have kids, you can find other couples that like the same things you do. With ‘The Couple Spot’ we all can meet interesting new people, do fun things and not drag the kids along with. Even though it is hard for me to understand sometimes; people DO like to do things without thier kids always around!

Even though today is Monday, its actually my Sunday. I really love long weekends! Camping was fun, we had a wonderful time. This will be a short post as I will blog more about it later when I have more time at work, heeheehee.
However, one thing I want to mention, is that having contact lens whilst camping is really a pain. Put them in, take them out, plus the dust in the eyes, the wind; its all such a bother. Since we live in a small city, Lasik in San Francisco would probably be a good option for me. I know a few people that have had Lasik and they love it! Even Tiger Woods had the procedure and we all know how good his eyesight is!
It would be so very nice to wake up in the morning and see clearly, especially the beautiful mountains, which still had some snow by-the-way!
