Well, today is just not getting any better ! ! ! After the ’scale’ incident this morning, I get a phone call from my son (on his new cell!), saying that he just threw up. eGads, at least he was at home this time and not at school. So my terrific Dad called the school and excused him. What is strange, is that I think he is over-stressed. It’s the last few days of school and even tho he is in 7th Grade, they are having Finals! He did not eat a thing for dinner last night and woke up w/a raving headache. No Fun. I am getting off work early today to go get him. So much for my much needed nap today. pooh.

Bird ?

Post by: Chris on May 28th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Is an Ostrich a Bird ? I have often wondered this. Really, cuz there is a Lama farm that I drive by every day and even though I know that is not a bird, it makes me think of other strange and interesting creatures. My son too, always tells me about unique animals and he told me one day that the Bird is the only real living relative to the Dinosaur. But I am getting off topic here. It you are like me and want to learn more about the the Bird and thier Feather friends, try Ostrich. com. They even have stuffed animals, which I tend to like, a lot!

Well today sucks. Got up, stood on the scale and gained 4 pounds in the past 2 days. Now how is that possible !? I ate 1250 calories yesterday but the day before, Memorial Day, I did splurg and not count calories. So I messed up one day. Big Deal. Well, I guess it is a Big FAT deal ! ! ! ugh

Pick One, Any One

Post by: Chris on May 27th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I checked my Credit Card balance on line today and well, its a tad on the way-too-big side; $750 smackers. Lately I have been charging everything under the sun. Normally I write checks, but last month I tried something new; charge it all! I know lots of people charge everything, but I normally don’t; I write checks. What I need to do is review low interest credit cards and see which one is the best for me personally. CreditCardsClub.com lists all the credit card, thier interest rates, yearly fees and much more. When we got my son a new Cell Phone a few weeks ago, it took me a while to research each carrier, phone type, plans and prices. I tend to what some people call “process” the information before I decide on something, especially when it involves money, which I don’t seem to have a lot of these days. Going on line is great, and now if I want a new Credit Card, I can just go to one site and all the information is there. Very Convienent.

Since my bill comes in just a few days, I need to get my plan together, re-organize my bills and pay this thing off. I don’t like interest and flat out refuse to pay it. I guess we will be hurtin’ for the next few weeks till payday rolls around again. ugh.

Off, again.

Post by: Chris on May 27th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Well, once again I am off track on my eating healthy. I gained 1.7 pounds in just one day. I know, I have heard it before, “dont weigh yourself every day”, but I cant help it!. Yesterday was the Holiday and I know that I ate way to much. I knew it when I went to bed and I knew it when I woke up. The hard part is getting back on track. Its only ONE day, yeah, but one day for me throws me off and it takes me about three days to get back on track. I am trying; today I only ate 250 calories over my allowed 1000 a day. Tomorrow will be better as we now have a fridge full of veggies!

No Travel

Post by: Chris on May 27th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I work in the Travel industry. and let me tell you, these days, it’s pretty hard. No One is traveling much. Usually on the day after a Holiday, we are extremely busy, but today, man it was slow. So slow that I am looking for things to keep me busy at work. I think tho, that even the boss is having a hard time. He is more oft coming over and sitting w/us gabbing away about kids, politics and new movies. Sure, I love sitting around chatting, but I grew up w/strict work ethics and this is starting to knaw away at me. I know it is just a lull in our field, but still, it has me worried, especially when I see moving boxes around. Lets hope the summertime will see some improvment. Any Improvement.
