grumble grumble
Thursday 13th of March 2008 09:45:05 AMMy son recently had Scouts the other night. He came home and totally unloaded on me! Which is good, cuz I need to hear what is going when I am not there. He is pretty high in rank, a Star; this means he only has one rank left before going for Eagle. Anyways, I guess the boys that were not going camping this weekend had to stack chairs for the church they meet at. Okay, not too bad, but the way he put it was that this was like some sort of punishment for him not going camping. I asked where the others were going to camp and he did not know. If they go somewhere fun and do fun stuff, they he wants to go, but otherwise, he just doest go anymore. (I am still very upset at the year-round camping issue from last year). I could ramble away for a while, but I am going to make this a shorter post. I mean really, maybe they could get some delta machinery to help them w/all that moving stuff around! Needless to say, we are looking for another troop to join. One that the boys will learn something and have fun at the same time. It cant be that impossible……

I have said it before. BSA is more about money and the organization than the boys. Did you know that they have the highest paid executives in the non-profit business?

The organization do provide some good training for boys. I just wish they wouldn’t make it so expensive. And you are lucky in Utah. It is even worse in other areas of the country.
I have had boys involved in many different places. And there have a been a few times when they had a really good leader who was more interested in the boys than toeing the BSA line.
