Ah, the old days. Well, next on my travel agenda, with out the boyfriend of course, will be to see if I can make it to Spain; Barcelona to be exact. I have been to Europe but not Spain. Barcelona Hotels on the beach, or in a town, a visit the BasÃlica de Santa Maria del Pi, and of course I’d have to visit the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Opera House). This time I would take my son with. He loves all those old castles, ruins and of course the good food. Yum, lets go !

Gaudi’s architecture rules the city. Many of the sightseeing attractions revolve around his work, but there are also many other non-Gaudi things to see. If you like churches, Barcelona is a great place to see many different styles of them, from the modernist Sagrada Familia to the Gothic Barcelona Cathedral and everything in between. The city has many parks, which contain museums, lakes, fountains and interesting local life. A day trip to the Montserrat Monastery is a MUST! However, leave yourself plenty of time to explore the mountains surrounding the monastery. There are funiculars that can take you up and down them. Hope you will have a nice time in Barcelona!!

Barcelona is an amazing city filled with art, architecture and many things to do. It is the capital of Catalunya and the first language is definitely Catalan. However that said it is a city which is completely bilingual with signs in both Spanish and Catalan. A captivating place which will entice you with its language, people, sights and nightlife and an amazing history which holds sights dating from the Roman era.
