Marzipan

Post by: Chris on January 28th, 2008 | File Under Family

Since it has been snowing all day today, I have been thinking about Marzipan. We make Marzipan every Christmas holiday and I think we have eaten it all. It lasts quite a while in a cool room, and keeps very fresh too. It is a tradition we do every year. We have so much fun making it. The only way I can explain is we form the dough into friut shapes, its kinda like playing with PlayDough, so fun ! It is a blessing that none of us have cerebral palsy. Anyways, now I am stuck eating Valentines heart shaped chocolate. Here is a couple pictures of some of the shapes we make.

10 Years

Post by: Chris on January 28th, 2008 | File Under Family

As I was driving down the road today on my way to work, I was thinking that the month of January sure went by fast this year. Usually January is a depressing month for me, but this year it has not been too bad. Plus, I totally spaced out yesterday. Yesterday, January 27th is the day my divorce papers were signed by the Judge. 10 Years Ago. It is rather hard to believe it has been that long already. My son is 12, which means he was 2 when it was finalized. I still have a very dismal attitude regarding marriage. I know I am not ready to even think about getting married as I really do enjoy being single. I am pretty happy the way I am and right now I don’t want that to change. I like being happy. I like doing stuff with my son and my family. If I want to get cosmetic dentistry I can do that too. I can do whatever I want to and don’t have to check back with anyone. It’s a nice feeling.

DVD

Post by: Chris on January 27th, 2008 | File Under Family

As you know, we have this extra way cool TV now. We love watching it too! Yesterday however, there were no good shows on, other than Pretty Woman, and I really didn’t want my 12 year old son watching that one! So we take a late night drive out to Walmart. I dont like Walmart, but they do have cheep DVDs. I wanted Transformers and my son wanted Dragon Wars. I figured they would look very very good on our big 42 inch screen. We get home, pop in Dragon Wars, and, nothing. The DVD player said it could not read the disc. So I figure, okay, Walmart, prob a defective disk. So we pop in Transformers….nothing. So I think….hmmm, we just watched Harry Potter like 4 days ago, so we pop that one in, and, nothing. I come to the conculsion that our DVD player is dead. Total Bummer. I now understand where causes of female baldness come from; us women pulling out our hair in frustration!

So, to make a long story short, we watched Dragon Wars on the Laptops’ small screen instead of our new brand new TV ! errrr

xmas lights

Post by: Chris on January 26th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Today my goal is to take down the outside Christmas lights. I think it is about time. It is bright and sunny today, no blizzard or inversion and it is supposed to be over 30 degrees. We have those blue icicle lights hanging under the gutters near the roof. I do believe I might even have used some HDMI splitters, but I am not sure. I am not much of an electrician. Anyways, it’s really a pain putting them up, not so bad taking them down, but non the less, a pain all ’round! Every year I dont really want to do it, but I do, and when they come on at night, its really pretty. We have an off white house, so the blue lights really look neat. So, off my butt I go…

SnowPlow

Post by: Chris on January 26th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

This is a story about a friend of mine; she is a little, lets just say, a little ‘out of Utah’. She has been talking to me about moving to LA and having some cosmetic surgery. I feel she would make a good canidate for rhinoplasty in Los Angeles, CA. She want sto make herself more beautiful…..as you read this story you will see what I mean.

It was snowing heavily and blowing to the point that visibility was almost zero when my blonde friend got off work. She made her way to her car and wondered how she was going to make it home. She sat in her car while it warmed up and thought about her situation. She finally remembered her daddy’s advice that if she got caught in a blizzard she should wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it. That way she would not get stuck in a snow drift. This made her feel much better and sure enough in a little while a snow plow went by and she started to follow it. As she followed the snow plow she was feeling very smug as they continued and she was not having any problem with the blizzard conditions. After an hour had passed, she was somewhat surprised when the snowplow stopped and the driver got out and came back to her car and signaled for her to roll down her window. The snow plow driver wanted to know if she was all right as she had been following him for a long time. She said that she was fine and told him of her daddy’s advice to follow a snow plow when caught in a blizzard.
The driver replied that it was ok with him and she could continue if she wanted, but he was done with the Walmart parking lot and was going over to Sears next.

T.O’d

Post by: Chris on January 25th, 2008 | File Under Family

I am a little Ticked Off tonight. Its just another one of those days in which my son is being a lazy fart. This sooo ticks me off ! He has chores, one being cleaning the litter box. So I ask him to please clean the litter box and he says he already did. So, me being me, check up on him. and low and behold, there is poop and pee in there ! Most times our kitty misses and hits the newspaper all over the floor, we have had problems potty training your child, or in our case, our Cat! Anyways, I confront him and he says that he REALLY did clean the box but must have missed that. OMG. I personally dont see how one can miss that ! but I dont think he lies…..(trying to stay possitive here) or…. he really is brainless today and didnt see it in there. Either way sucks: I have brain-dead kid on Friday nights or he is lying to me (being the lazy fart). I dont know why I get upset. I just need to let it pass. I just happen to be a tad on the exhausted side and that always gets me grumpy. ugh.

Tax

Post by: Chris on January 25th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

I was reading CNN online yesterday and it was mentioning the possible extra money we just might get in June this year. I guess no one is spending much money these days, so they want to boost our spending and give singles $600 and married people $1200. They also mentioned that there might be a child fund too, possibly $300 per child. Ya know, that would be very nice. I could use the money for sure and I think lots of us could. It would be a very nice present. However, I bet we would be taxed on it at the end of the year. I need business performance management softwareto figure out how to go around that one, heeheehee.

Frozen

Post by: Chris on January 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Here I sit, at work, I know, you already know that I am at work. sheesh. Anyways, I have the munchies. really bad. Yesterday I started all over again to loose those 10 pounds, okay, 12 pounds, that somehow magically attracted themselves to me, and no…I have NO idea how this happened! So my point here, is that it is fetchin’ freezing in here. I am drinking cold water in order to not eat anything. This place is littered w/food 24 hours a day I swear. and not good stuff either, well, it IS good tasting, but not healthy. So I am chugging down the water, getting up every hour to pee, and freezing my butt and fingers off! It is so cold!

I am determined to fit back into my women’s lingerie. I have drawer full of nice stuff. Its been there for…..ohhhh, a very long time. I am not going to wear the stuff in this freezing weather, but I figure I better get my was-slender figure back into shape so I can look nice come Spring. Who knows…. I might even get a date by then !
