memories
Wednesday 16th of January 2008 09:23:32 AMI have this strange relationship to music. When I hear a song it can bring me right back to a memory from my past. This happened just this morning when I was driving to work. I heard “Dirty Laundry”. Not the lyrics, but it reminds me of a certain time in my past. I heard this song floating out of a Midshipmans window when I visited my first boyfriend out at the Naval Accademy. That was a wonderful trip. Blue skys, good friends, and very strong memories that will last me a lifetime.
Strangly enough, I got an email from him the other day. It was an interesting one to say the least. I replied back, in my quircky, strange and blunt way that I always do. However this time. he did not reply back. I think I scared him away. again. I tend to do that. on occation. well. okay. alot. But this is the way I am; blunt and to the point. Sometimes I wonder if I need a self assessment. I hope if he is reading this, he will reply back to me soon. XOXO

I don’t think your relationship to music is strange at all. It is certainly true for me and I would think it is for many folks. Not only during certain songs bring back a memory but even a feeling. Everytime I her CCR’s Fortunate Son I am taken back to my early teens and all the turmoil of the sixties and seventies. I think that song is even more telling about our current period. I won’t mention what a certain song from tha era does to me.

Yes, music is one of those great things in this world. Of course, I dont really know music from the sixties and seventies as I was too young, heeheehee.
