Tuesdays’ Troubles’

Post by: Chris on December 11th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

Well Tuesday is just about over, thank goodness ! Things are just not working today. Misc odds and ends falling apart everywhere; both at work and home.

The main thing is that when I reply to a comment here on my blog, the person does not get the reply email. I am seriously considering going back to school to learn about programming and get some type of computer degree. I tried to talk to my son about it but I swear, he might need ear surgery in Chicago for as much as his ears work these days. I will have to approach him when he is in a more listening mode! sheesh.

Tonight is dinner w/my Dad though. Lets hope the Buffet has good stuff, yum ! I really love going to buffets’. I tend to eat way to much, but still, we never go to them. I think the last time was in Las Vegas several years ago. Gosh it was so fun and good! I hope not to eat too much.

Cold Pets ?

Post by: Chris on December 10th, 2007 | File Under Pets

It is going to be a tad on the cold side this week. They say down to 9 degrees at night and only about 25 during the day. We keep our heat at home very low when no one is here; 52 degrees. I often worry about our Turtle and Cat. The Turtle, not so much as she had a heat lamp, but our Cat, I worry a little more. When we got home today the temp was 52 in the house so I know it was cold as the heat did kick on a bit. I might be a little too worried about the care for pets. I know our kitty is happy, but we do have a few cats in the neighborhood that are outside every day. They are very fluffy in winter, so I should not worry, but I still do.

Anyways, our cat Rosey, is fine. She sleeps in my sons bedroom, which is the warmest room in the house, and she sleeps either on his feather bed, under the feather bed or on his Love Sack. And she always greets us at the door when we come home. We are a lucky family.

Well I did not make the weigh in. Now I am even more depressed. I really hate it when I get so upset over my weight! I know it is totally unreasonable, unrationable and plain stupid. I know this, yet am unable to change. good gosh. Anyways, I was over by 2 pounds in my weight and over by .3 % in my body fat. .3 % ! My Gosh ! Ya’d think she’d let that one slide….? uh. no. errrrr.

So I went down to the cafeteria and got some fries and frie sauce. Yum ! All gone.

I did have a Diet Coke tho….

Blue

Post by: Chris on December 10th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

Well here it is, Monday already. I still have some Christmas shopping that has to be done, so I just got done ordering something else on line. Just to be safe, I ordered priority Mail. It’s getting to darn close to call. Plus, I ordered this way cool gift for my sis back in November, and they still have not shipped it yet! I am getting worried on that one. It’s a custom made item, but I really did not think it would take this long to ship.

When I was on line I decided to check out custom sorority t-shirts. I guess I am jumping a little ahead, but college is just around the corned. This place also does custom made items for lots of different themes. I personally like sweatshirts, which they have too!

Dreary

Snowy, yet Dreary . . .
Today is a rather depressing day. For some unknown reason to me, I am kinda down. I really need to get in the Holiday spirit. This coming week should be better. I hope.

Tomorrow

Post by: Chris on December 9th, 2007 | File Under Health

Tomorrow is my big Weigh In. I need to loose 2 lbs by then. It is not looking good. I work up this morning, stepped on the scale and gained one pound since the day before. I mean really, how can I gain one pound in 24 hours! Needless to say, I am rather depressed today. I think it is the big glass of milk I drank an hour before bedtime. So, no milk for me today. I am doing okay today, but I just wish tomorrow was over and done with already!

I guess I need to snap out of this. We got another few inches of snow and we already went driving around in it too. At least we have snow and are not in some place that is warm for winter. I could not do that; live is a place that has no snow for winter. However, if I did, it would be Florida, but then again, I would probably have to see a Orlando surgeon to fix me up for the constant bikini beaches.

Oh My. The traffic is terrible out there! I forgot just how awfull it is on a Saturday night. I almost got hit about 3 times. There is about a foot of snow on the ground now, and piles and piles of it everywhere cuz the snowplows piled it high to clear the roads and still, people are driving so fast! I must admit tho, I am a rather aggressive driver, but not is these conditions! People are is such a rush; going who-knows where, but I mean really people! Get a grip and slow down…… !

You got to love Non Profit organizations. I know a few people that are involved in them, manage them and that is their main focus; I really look up to them. Since we are so involved in Scout stuff, one of the main things we need to do is help with community service for at least 6 hours. Last summer we did a project for a group that helps women and their kids get back on their feet after being abused by their partners. It was such an eye opener for me and my son. Even though I have been in a similar situation, it is nice to know that there is help out there and that no one needs to go it alone. We talked to the director and she was such a great person. I cannot name this organization as they are very private so that the abusive person will not find them. They would not even give us their address until the morning of our project. Anyways, many of them are in debt and looking for debt consolidation. This organization will help them with managing their funds, find lower interest rates and basically teach them to live by their own means. They get their own place to live and the security of the organization.

Being Christmas time and all, I feel so very lucky to be where I am today.
