Traveling

Post by: Chris on December 21st, 2007 | File Under Travel

Since I have today off work, I was watching the morning news and they were saying that today is the busiest airport travel day of the year. Sorry to say, I am not going anywhere this season and especially today! We must have got over a foot of snow overnight. I love it! And in the Mountains, I think I heard over four feet. Way Cool.

Since my mom just got back from Germany last week, I have been really wanting to go somewhere. We did not get a chance to travel anywhere this year. In the next little bit thought, I think I am going to check out flights to Vancouver. I have never been there and hear is beautiful. In fact, I don’t think I have ever been to Canada! I hear the beaches are beautiful, the people wonderful and the sites gorgous. Besides, I totally love to fly! Airplanes are so fun. In fact, I used to jump out of them, but thats another story, heeheehee.

Cartoons

Post by: Chris on December 20th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

My son loves Cartoons. He gets up every Saturday, pretty early and before me, turns the TV on and watches cartoons all morning. really. till noon. He is 12. Not that I mind, its just kinda wierd. We dont have cable, so its just WB 30, and Fox.

Today I took off work, but he still wanted to get up early, this time so he could watch cartoons before he went to school. So I got him up the usually time of 5:45AM and he went down to watch TV. We never watch much TV so maybe this was his fix for the day, heeheehee. But anyways, he really likes Curious George. OK, now I even remember George from my childhood, several decades ago! Its a cute show, but really, my son is 12 ! He also still likes Arthur, but he has advanced to loving, and I mean loving, the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad. Wow. I really hate those shows ! I think he watches them just to bug me cuz he knows I hate them so much ! But, I am a good parent and sit thru them, explaining every 5 minutes, that real families are not like that. He says “I know, Mom, duh” but I still worry. and keep explaining.

Gosh I wish sometimes I could see the future and make sure he turns out all-right. *heavy sigh*

Versatile Depp

Post by: Chris on December 19th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

Hard to believe that the Christmas movie season has begun; this weekend Johnny Depp comes back as Sweeny Todd. I did visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site and the movie trailer sure is captivating. I have this friend at work, over the cubical wall, that is thee most Johnny Depp fan on the planet. She knows every movie, every role, every anything that he has played in. I am not that knowledgeable, but I sure do like him none the less! My favorite movie he was in is Willey Wonkas Chocolate Factory. Okay, that IS kind of strange, but he tweaked the part so wonderfully how could anyone not love him! I remember the old movie with Gene Wilder, but when Depp played Wonka, it gave the movie a new twist. My favorite movie though, would have to be Pirates I, when Depp played Captain Jack. With his long hair, beard and hot body, how could anyone not love the infamous Pirate! Even though the first movie was my favorite, my favorite scene was from Pirates III, when they are battling with swords while on top of the big wheel. So fun!

I am really looking forward to Sweeny Todd. You can visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace as I did. Plus, I have heard that Johnny Depp never plays the same role or character, more than once. In Pirates he did, but now I don’t think he will play the same character again. Sweeny Todd will be another totally different role for Depp. He loves to play the strange and bizarre creatures. We plan on seeing the movie soon, it’s come out Friday, but we will probably see in later as we want to miss the crowds.

Grumpy, Frustrated, Tired, Fed Up !

Post by: Chris on December 17th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

I am in a oh-so terrible mood today. Basicly, just sick and tired of it all. Tired of doing everything myself, tired of not eating normal ( I gained 7 lbs last week ! ) Tired of running around, tired of having to live up to the expectations of the “single mom” sydrome; of keeping it all together, being happy and self suffient! Well I am bearly hanging on, can bearly put food on the table and paying the heating bill will prob push me over the edge to a mental break down. Christmas this year is miserable. I cannot afford the games and hi-tech stuff my son wants. I already told him ‘Santa’ is not getting me, his mom, anything on Christmas Morn, cuz I just cant afford it ! He doesnt seem to mind, cuz Santa usually brings his mom dumb stuff, like much needed underwear anyways.

However, what really bugs me is when people (NOT family) say they will lend me the money and I can pay them back whenever. I dont like owing people money! I dont like being in debt, and I really wish money grew on trees like it seems to do for the rest of the world.

I really really need to get over this mood. and get on with life and stop complaining ! !

Headless Chickens

Post by: Chris on December 14th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

My Mom used to tell me stories from her childhood in Germany and she told me one about when her mother had to chop the head of a chicken off, so that they could have dinner. Well, I guess the headless chicken would run around for quite a while before it finially fell over, wildly bumping into things, making a mess and just mindless (ha, good pun huh) running around.
I feel like that today. We have been so busy and I am running around like crazy and nothing is getting done even tho I am madly doing tons of stuff ! I cant seem to dig out. I was supposed to get off work early and do some Christmas shopping, but I ended up trying to clean my room. I have not cooked dinner in over a week either. I just dont have time to do that either! at the end of the day I am exhausted and look over what I have accomplished and dont see much of anything done, even tho I did Tons of Stuff! !

I am glad the weekend is here tho. I love sleeping in on Saturdays and tomorrow we are going to the Nutcracker Ballet. Just me and my son. Should be fun. I hope to do more blog stuff, um, maybe Sunday ! eek !

Summer Yet?

Post by: Chris on December 12th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

Well. Its winter here all right. Tonight, it might hit like 18 degrees they say. You can really see your breath. When I went to get the mail my fingers just about frooze off and I was only outside for like a minute! Sad to say though, No fire as we are too busy to watch it, but tomorrow I plan on a nice cozy warm fire. And to watch Smallville, if its not a rerun.

It is very sunny here, and I have been thinkin’ about San Diego Hondas. As we have friends in San Diego and they have invited us to stay with them next summer. So, we just might do that. I’d have to rent a car though. Hondas are okay, I had a Honda Motorcycle, but not a car. But I am totally jumping the gun here! Its only December! Never hurts to dream thought and I love thinking about the warm summer months to come.
