Thursday 6th of December 2007 01:08:57 PMOk. Here I sit next to my cubbie mate. He is blabbing away about how he is paying for his collage age daughters tuition, car payments, car insurance, food, gas, and just about everything. He is not rich, he works here with me! I really wonder how he affords that, plus all his regular bills. And I know they want to buy a Mini. They are looking at Auto Loan Financing. Go figure.
This girl is going to grow up with no knowledge of life other than living off Dad. With no credit history, no bills, no nothing. I secretly think he thinks she will marry some guy that will take care of her. This IS Utah and believe it or not, parents think that way about thier daughters. From Dad to Hubby, just pass her along folks! sheesh.

Certainly isn’t this way with my kids. I pay for very little for them once they are old enough to get a job. Some people accuse me of being a hard ass! Maybe but it is their education not mine. My parents helped when they could. I do the same. In fact, once they are out of high school I charge them rent if they live at home. Not much mind you. Just enough so they know it is not a free ride.

Hey KC/DC, Thanks for the support, sometimes I feel like a hard ass too! My parents charged me rent as well, not much, but it does put life into perspective. and its not getting any easier out there. XO
