Safe and Sound

Post by: Chris on October 14th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

Sunday night and all’s well. My son arrived back from his two day camp out safe and sound. I am such a worry wart; always hoping that he wont break any more bones, aquire any additional bruises or deep bloody gashes. He is not really the wild type, but some of the other Scouts are and ya never know what will happen when boys get around other boys! He has broken his arm once before. Nursing jobs must be in demand, cuz the Insta Care was way busy. But all’s well that end’s well, so they say. Tomorrow is Monday and I am ready !

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Post by: Chris on October 12th, 2007 | File Under CoDependant

I am very luck to work at a business that is very diverse. We have meeting, gatherings and discussions on just about every topic imaginable. The most recent topic is Domestic Violence. I myself, have been in a past relationship w/violence; so this comes from my heart. It is an article that was passed out at my workplace.

Domestic Violence encompasses a wide range of acts committed by one partner against another in an intimate relationship. This may occur in a variety of relationships; married, separated, divorced, dating, heterosexual, gay or lesbian.

Domestic Violence is a pattern of behaviors, some causing physical injury, others not, some criminal, others not, but all are psychologically damaging. Frequently, Domestic Violence includes threats of violence, threats of suicide, or threats to take children from the abused person. It may also include breaking objects, hurting pets, yelling, driving recklessly to endange or scare the abused person, isolating family members from others and controlling resources like money, vehicles, credit and time.

The Goal of the abusive person is to establish and maintain control over his or her partner, without intervention, domestic violence may become lethal.

There is NO excuse for Domestic Violence.

It Begins…

Post by: Chris on October 8th, 2007 | File Under Scouts

The week from Hell starts, today. We have so much going on, we will not be home in the evening’s till Friday. I am going to have to put away My Life and focus on the kiddo (wow, do I even Have a life of my own? uh, no) but, it’s mostly Scout Stuff this time. I swear it never ends sometimes but then again, I’d prob turn into a hermit it I didnt force myself to get out.

There is that part of me that likes the seclusion, privacy and peacefully boring-ness of a hermits life. I will save that for this weekend as my son will be Camping w/the Scouts and I get Friday night AND Saturday night alone. Gosh I am so not going anywhere ! The couch will be my best friend.

XOXO

Action Replay DS

Post by: Chris on October 6th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things, Gaming

Hi and Help !

Is there anyone out there that is a gamer and knows how to reinstated codes mistakenly deleted from an Action Reply DS!?

My son was downloading new codes and the dang thing deleted all his old ones in order to upgrade. This was not supposed to happen; there was no warning either, and no “are you sure” window pop up either. My Gosh, he is sooo upset. He manually entered those codes just yesterday and it must have taken hours. We can re-enter them manually or via the supercheat website, but I still think they are on the Action Reply. When he tried to download again, it said his Action Replay did not have enought space; so they Have to still be there, somewhere. Oh what a pain.

ugh.

Good God It’s Friday !

Post by: Chris on October 6th, 2007 | File Under Every Day Things

My Quote of the day :

If you have a lot of tension and you get a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle: “Take two Aspirin” and “Keep away from children.”

and

CHILDREN: You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 telling them to sit down and shut-up.

The reason for my choice of topic is that my 12.5 year old and I have been butting heads all week long ! and its getting old fast. I am so darn tired of arguing about every fetchin’ thing ! We went out for Fast Food last night and we got into an argument about why he could not decide where to go ! I told him just to pick a place, anyplace, and he went off on me saying it was a hard choice, he was under pressure (cuz we must have passed like 8 places by then) and I was rushing him and forcing him to make a decision and that he needed more time. O.M.G. It was quite funny looking back, but really, its just fast food people

and…… can he just not pick up his dirty socks from the floor either ? ! ! ! Obviously not :( They are still there. Even our Cat is avoiding them. And I flat our refuse this time. Wonder how long I will last on that on tho, sheesh.

Oh, and get this. We went to Parent/Teacher conference last night and all I got was how wonderful he was, a great student, volunteers to answer questions, helps other class mates, does all the required work on time, the list goes on. He must be a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. (Okay so I cant spell, I guess I should ask my son ! ! ! )

So, I am glad it is Friday. I am planing on sleeping in till at Least 730am. That will be 2.5 hours past normal wake-up week-day time of 5AM. Its going to be wonderful *sigh*

XOXOX

Wednesday

Post by: Chris on October 3rd, 2007 | File Under Weight Watching

Well today I got my BP checked again. I will get it checked 3 times a week, for 3 weeks. Monday it was 108/64 and pulse was 78, Today it is 97/78 w/a pulse of 87 ! I have a very fast pulse, always have. In a couple weeks I get my Cholesteral checked as well. I have never ever ever had that done. So will see ! I dont eat meat much, perhaps once a week, so I am hoping my levels will be low.

I love my job ! Today is my short day, off at noon. I get to have the Jeep IM and Inspected, such fun. New battery too. Sheesh, I need to work more in order to fetchin’ pay for it all ! ugh.

XOXO
