Pioneer Day

Post by: Chris on July 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Today is a big holiday here in Utah. It is the day, that some big Mormon leader whose name I cannot seem to remember, came to our lovely Valley and said “This Is The Place”; meaning this is the place that the LDS pioneers will settle and make their home. I think they came from back East somewhere. I must admit, my Mormon history sucks. I know very little about it. I do know tho, that they did not have any Rubis cutlery. We do have big parades today, lots and lots of Rodeos, Carnivals and FireWorks all over the valley tonight. It is actually a very good and fun holiday for us non-Mormons, as all the business are closed, well, unless you work for the feds, or an international company, they are open. It is always nice to have an extra holiday during the year!
The kiddo and I are thinking, just thinking mind you, to go someplace and watch the fireworks, however . . . the prob is that it is 100 degrees out there today. So we have not decided if we are going to venture out yet!

worry

Post by: Chris on July 24th, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Well I seem to be in a rather grumpy mood today considering I took the day off work! Sometimes this happens to me; I get so worried that I will not have a job when I get back, that I stress out on my days off! Totally stupid, I know. The last few times I have taken a long weekend vacation, I have had headaches every fetchin’ day. Time are so hard in the Travel industry, that it really worries me sometimes. I cannot do a thing about it, but I still worry. Stress is my enemy. I think and think and think, and ‘what if’ way too much. I gotta just go w/the flow. I strongly believe that things happen for a reason, and more oft than not, it ends up better in the long run. I just have to hang in there.

Healthy Coffee

Post by: Chris on July 24th, 2008 | File Under Health

Every day I have to start my day with a cup of coffee. I love coffee. These days I have my coffee half decaf and half regular. I have noticed that if I have a full cup of regular caffeine coffee I get the jitters too much. What I would really like is healthy coffee. Coffee that is good for me, has antioxidants and tastes great. Until recently I never heard of reishi. Gana Brand is a healthy coffee that contains reishi mushrooms, which is known for its ability to naturally help improve the body’s pH. Since I believe in natural recourses to keep us healthy, I think this is a great thing! I can have my Coffee and enjoy the benefits it provides me as well. Mornings will be nice for sure.

One Of Those Days

Post by: Chris on July 22nd, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

My Gosh. Today has been just one of those days! I have been swamped at work; the boss came back from his Vegas vacation at his friends condo hotel and he really piled on the work today. Lots of odds and ends, didnt give me a chance to do much but work! I know, I know, that’s what I am supposed to do, but I still like to have a few breaks in a day.
I did not drop any ECards today either, so I am sorry for that. I still need to reply to many of you guys and see how you all are doin’ w/the Tuesday Girls, in which I am still trying to get you-all linked on my side bar, but dont seem to have time for that either these days! eGads, I am ready for bed, but I just sat down, and I still have laundry, and dish, and . . . it never ends does it !?

Cauliflower

Post by: Chris on July 21st, 2008 | File Under Health

Here I sit; at work eating raw Cauliflower. I am sick and tired of Caulflower. I need to constantly chew on something, and thats all I had in the house today. In my weekly WW newsletter, I did get an suggestion that I really like. It said to eat 1/2 cup of Salsa with 8 stalks Celery (1 WW point). I like that idea! It will give me the crunchy-ness that I need, plus I just bought some fresh local Salsa the other day and I was dreading having chips w/it. So Celery it is! Now I just have to wait till I get home to much on that. Oh, we also will be picking up our local organic produce today from the farm, so good food eating is on the way this week. wee hee !

Relax

Post by: Chris on July 21st, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things

Okay. I could use this, yupe, sounds good to me: The Takemi Jade Vista 5000 Massage Bed . A LightSpeed massage bed that changes light from technologically advanced helium projector bulbs, into a special wavelength of light called Far Infrared. Sounds totally soothing to me. Plus, I can listen to my fav tones as it has a built in MP3 Player. Immediate Relief, Relaxation, Health & Vitality are the results of the Massage Bed. Many Chiropractic professionals are starting to use these beds and they are poppin’ up in every day homes as well. Wow. To have one of these in my house; Good Bye Stress!

Bills

Post by: Chris on July 21st, 2008 | File Under Every Day Things, Family

Being Monday and I, and, since I didnt do squat all weekend, I am now figuring out my bills. And, the bad news is . . . I dont seem to have enough money to cover them all. The good news is . . . I get 3 paychecks in August. However, it is not August yet. The next couple weeks are going to be tight. Sometime this being Single kinda sucks; no one to rely on but myself *sigh*
